About

I have over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of learning development using solid instructional design, writing, and interactive engagement strategies. I specialize in creating highly technical programs that are developed for websites, learning management systems, and mobile responsive deployments.

I hold a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation from the Institute for Performance and Learning (Canada’s certifying organization for workplace learning professionals). I have designed a number of award-winning programs for clients such as Alberta Health Services (AHS), Parks Canada, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and the United Nations (UN).

From 1997-2014 I owned and ran my own company with 15 staff, creating eLearning and interactive media. I was listed on PROFIT Magazine’s W100 as one of Canada’s top 100 women entrepreneurs for three consecutive years. Following the sale of my company, I created my own consulting practice (Micro Learning Bursts).

In 2016 and 2017 I was a member of a CoastSmart communication and education strategy team, working with Think2020 under contract to Parks Canada. The team created media and educational materials for the public safety campaign highlighting the hazards at beaches along the coastline between Tofino and Ucluelet. I helped design the CoastSmart website coastsmart.ca including HTML responsive micro learning interactions and a quiz for use by website users and for completion of CoastSmart 101 educational presentations. I also produced nine CoastSmart educational videos as part of the project.

I am a team player and often work with client teams to choose the right technology for their organizational needs. I especially love to team up colleagues to create epic learning programs, interactive media, or something else yet to be discovered. I get the most work joy from succeeding as a team, and I’m open to learning new things with every project. Whatever is around the corner, I know it works best with other professionals who want to make the world a better place.
